The event will be signposted from the main road and all relevant details including parking location will be posted on Facebook prior to the day.

Please note if you are booking later times that all riders must set out by 12 noon. The farmers will need their fields back for stock later on.  

How to book

At checkout, please enter your desired starting time and add product to your cart. Then, if paying for multiple riders, manually adjust the quantity box accordingly.

Please note: It is up to the participants to organize their ride amongst them.  We encourage you to designate a group leader to pay for all riders in one booking to avoid your desired time slot being purchased by somebody else.

Terms and Conditions

1.      Booking

1.1.   All bookings to be made online in advance, via fdhsc.myshopify.com, with full payment due at the time of booking.

1.2.   Booking opens approx. 2 – 3 weeks prior to the fun ride and closes approx. 24 hours before.

1.3.   Please be ready to set out at your booked time slot. All riders must set out before the last time of 12 noon.

1.4.   Lead rein riders and those going more slowly should plan to go earlier in the day before 10.30am to allow time to get around the course.

1.5.   Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable. Refunds will only be considered on production of a valid veterinary or doctor’s certificate or at the organiser’s discretion in which case a £5 admin fee will be retained per rider.

1.6.   RWAS Anglesey Feature County Fun Ride reserves the right to cancel the event at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or any other reason that is in the best interest of horse, rider, and the land owners. In the event of cancellation, payments will be refunded less a £5 admin fee.

1.7.   If booking for others the booking leader is responsible for sharing the RIDER’S DECLARATION to the other riders in the booking. By making a payment for your booking you are acknowledging and accepting the RIDER’S DECLARATION below on behalf of yourself and the other riders in the booking. Any children under the age of 18 will need the RIDER’S DECLARATION sent to their parent or guardian for their consent.

1.8.   RIDER’S DECLARATION:

1.8.1.      I am physically fit to participate in this Fun Ride event.

1.8.2.      I acknowledge that horse riding has a risk of physical injury and I fully accept responsibility for all such risks as a condition of participating in this Fun Ride event.

1.8.3.      I understand and accept that the organisers, land owners (or tenants) of this  Fun Ride event cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage however caused.

1.8.4.      I agree to be responsible for my own actions and for any loss or damage caused by my horse or by my failure to follow these Terms and Conditions.

1.8.5.      I have appropriate and current public liability insurance. RWAS Anglesey Feature County Fun Ride reserve the right to review this if requested.

1.9.   Legal Liability

Horse riding is a high-risk activity and participants take part entirely at their own risk.

RWAS Anglesey Feature County Fun Ride, its volunteers, farmers, landowners and tenants accept no liability for loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, spectators, vehicles or property except where such liability cannot legally be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

 

 

1.10.                      Emergency Procedure
RWAS Anglesey Feature County Fun Ride is a volunteer-run event and does not provide professional first aid cover. By participating, riders acknowledge that emergency services will be contacted if required and that any resulting costs remain the responsibility of the rider or horse owner.

1.10.1.  Each rider will be given a wristband with an emergency number to ring in case of emergency. A member of the organising team from RWAS Anglesey Feature County Fun Ride will be sent to assist.

1.10.2.  The What 3 words app is recommended for exact location. Please ensure every rider has this app downloaded in case your party becomes separated.

1.10.3.  If a vet is called any veterinary costs will be the liability of the rider or owner of the horse.

1.10.4.  RWAS Anglesey Feature County Fun Ride highly recommend the use of a medical armband including any specific medical needs in case of an accident as well as emergency contact details.

2.      Registration

2.1.   Please report to the registration shed on arrival to pick up wristbands with emergency number and to take note of any safety information

2.2.   The time booked is the time to set out on course. Late comers at the end of the day may be turned away as farmers need the land back to turn out stock.

2.3.   In the interests of safety please stick to the booked start time.

2.4.   On returning, please return to the registration shed to sign out.

3.      On Course

3.1.   We strongly recommend that all riders wear a current standard fastened hard hat when mounted. Riders without an appropriate riding hat will not be allowed to start. All riders are strongly advised to wear appropriate body protection.

3.2.   Riders must follow all directional and safety signage as well as instructions from the  Fun Ride Manager, registration stewards and ride stewards.

3.3.   If it is necessary to retire on course, please ring the emergency number on the wristband for help in returning.

3.4.   Riders are encouraged to carry a mobile phone

3.5.   The minimum age for horses and ponies is 4 years

3.6.   Stallions are allowed if known to be well behaved and wear a stallion ID. Please get in touch prior to booking to request permission to bring stallions.

3.7.   Overtaking is permitted BUT should only be done safely by calmly alerting those ahead of your intention, and awaiting an affirmative response before proceeding past at a walk. Respect must be shown for other riders, stewards and people encountered on the ride.

4.      Children

4.1.   Children aged 14 – 17 may complete the ride on their own, provided an appropriate adult remains available whilst the ride is underway

4.2.   Children up to and including 13 years must be escorted by an appropriate adult (over 18) on a horse or on foot

4.3.   Children should wear appropriate body protection as well as an appropriate hard hat

4.4.   Please arrive fairly early in the day if taking the short route for lead rein riders, novices and dog walkers.  Cash donations for this route to be paid at the event.

4.5.   Parental/guardian consent is required for all riders under 18.

5.      Jumps

5.1.   All jumps are optional

5.2.   Please only attempt to jump if you and your horse are suitably skilled to jump fixed fences.

5.3.   Consideration must be always given to other horses and riders

5.4.   Only jump fences marked as part of the course

5.5.   Please report any problems, injuries, or breakages using the emergency phone number

6.      Photography

6.1.   By participating, you consent to photographs being taken for legitimate promotional purposes.

6.2.   If you wish for images of you or your child to be removed, please inform the photographers Bwts Bach Brown.

7.      Miscellaneous

7.1.   Toilet facilities will be available in Penbol House.  

7.2.   If your horse is difficult to load, please book earlier in the day as stewards cannot go home until the last horse has departed for home.

7.3.   Respect and courtesy MUST be maintained whether at the event or when commenting on Social Media. Our volunteers work extremely hard to run this event to make it safe and fun for all. Any abuse will not be tolerated. If you have a question or concern please email penralltanglesey@gmail.com
